I’m not crazy…

A fascinating glimpse into the world of big wave surfing. From ESPN, an interview with Mark Healey; “Self deprecation is part of the play for Healey and his group of non-crazy friends. It’s how they humbly shrug off doing non-crazy things like going left at Waimea or hitching rides on the backs of Great White sharks. But in all seriousness, ask anybody and they’ll tell you, Healey’s the man.”

Triple Crown of Surfing

The Vans Triple Crown of Surfing kicked off on Friday 12 November in Oahu which runs through to the 20 December.  The men’s and women’s events for this year are as follows;

Mens event – Reef Hawaiian Pro.  Womens event – Cholo’s Womens Hawaiian Pro
12 – 23 November at Ali’i Beach, Haleiwa, Oahu

Mens – O’Neill World Cup of Surfing.  Womens – Gidget Pro
24 November – 6 December at Sunset Beach, Oahu

Mens – Billabong Pipe Masters.  Womens – Vans Duel for the Jewel
8 December – 20 December at Pipeline, Oahu
